In order to respond to our question, we should first establish what is a perfect job and how we define it. The meaning that we give to the definition will determine the starting point of our answer. Therefore, the first question we should be asking ourselves is: what makes a job “perfect”?

Think about it for a second… Is it the money? The hours? Is it the amount of work you put into it? Is it the vacation time we are allowed? Is it the benefits that come with the position? What is this special factor that can make a job perfect? And a more important question: Do we all have the same?

You may define your perfect job as one where you get to conduct research and find answers to help others, while someone else defines theirs as one with a good paycheck and flexible hours. Nevertheless, your perfect job should be something meaningful to you.

We believe that there is no such thing as calling something perfect. However, it is possible to find a fulfilling job that could come close to being defined as “perfect”.

Here are several things that may constitute a perfect job and you should contemplate while searching for it!

  • Be in quest of a job that gives you the opportunity of growth; this will grant you motivation and purpose to do what you do and it will help you become the person you want in the future. Do not be afraid to ask beforehand what your growth possibilities are; you will come out as someone who thinks ahead of their game and looks for challenges.

  • Always remember that knowledge and skills are essentials in any line of work so it is fundamental that you seek a position where yours are recognized; though try to push yourself out of your comfort zone and make a commitment to learning new skills and tools. Dare yourself to be better and do more every day.

  • Love what you do! As simple as it may sound, if you wake up every morning and you go off to do something that satisfies you, you will end up doing a great job and in consequence, it will bring out the best in you. There is some truth in the phrase “do what you love and you will never work a day in your life”.

All in all, pursue the job position that you believe goes with your definition of perfect and gives you a sense of gratification at the end of the day.
